Home… so many song lyrics come to mind when I think of that word, lol.
But when I think about gratitude with respect to home, my first thought is that I have never been without a home. And for that, I am truly grateful. And although I’m huddled under layers right now, that’s by choice to save some money on my utility bills. With the exception of my first Thanksgiving in this house when the furnace blower died, I’ve never had to survive being cold or hungry when at home.
I’m also grateful to be welcomed to others’ homes. I’ve been hosted by friends and family all over the country, whether for a meal or as a house guest for a vacation. I also get to enjoy the beauty of friends’ homes when I dog and house sit for them.
Home is where my stuff is, and there’s plenty of it. 😂 I have yarn and fiber and other craft supplies. There’s music in the form of paper, vinyl, cassettes and CDs. I have photographs and a variety of camera equipment. Books of all kinds live in every room in the house. And there are movies a plenty, though I did purge a significant portion of my collection last year. There’s no shortage of entertainment here!
Thank you, Lord, for blessing me in abundance with a roof over my head, food on my table, and a comfortable bed to rest when day is done.
Write on.
