Gratuitous Knitting Photos

Yesterday was #MarkItMonday, though I wasn’t thorough in my process. Because I only worked on two projects during the day, I only captured my progress on those two items. I plan to pick up my other two top-priority projects today. So, I will grab progress pictures of them before I begin knitting.

OMG Heel Sock pattern by Megan Williams

I went to see the latest MCU film in the theater, Spider-Man: No Way Home. The only project for the movie theater is plain stockinette, so my DVD sock-in-progress was the clear choice. I snapped this picture right after I sat down. A couple of times during the movie, I felt a “hiccup” in the fabric; so, I would put the work down for a while and wait for a break in the action to try again. All told, I managed to get about twenty rounds knit before the end of the movie.

I should note (for the uninitiated) that the marker on the first sock shows where I started knitting last Monday.

Spellbound pattern by Boo Knits

Definitely not movie knitting; I picked up this shawl after walking to the Starbucks cafe in the nearby Barnes and Noble store after leaving the theater. This lace and beads design is wonderfully intuitive. I don’t have to reference my pattern once I start a row. The rows are very long, though. It takes 30-45 minutes, depending on the complexity.

This is one of my last Boo Knits designs for the year, part of a collection of twelve projects I’ve selected to knit for the designer’s annual challenge. This is one of the final two projects I still have on the needles. This will also give me a decent amount of points in the Down Cellar Studio Pigskin Party KAL.

The calendar year is winding down. I have five projects in progress that I hope to complete by the end of the month/year. Of course, I’m also thinking through my knitting goals and plans for 2022. As previously noted, one goal is to use (or give away) more yarn than I bring in. I would also like to finish at least two large projects currently on the needles – blankets!

Knit on.
