A busy week behind me and another busy week to come!

I’m certainly earning my vacation getaway, putting in hours upon hours of work at home. I’ve lived here nearly 24 years, and the stuff I’ve collected in that time is overwhelming. Over the weekend I put in a chunk of time clearing space in my office, which was my son’s bedroom 2000-2005. The huge corner desk I’m removing dates back to before he was born! On Sunday I was able to get one half of the old desk moved into the living room. That allowed me the space to set up the standing desk I bought last fall. (I haven’t taken photos yet as I have a few more things to move.) I have filled up my recycling bin, and pitched three large bags of trash. I also have three boxes of items to donate to Goodwill.

Besides the household work, I have been knitting when time permits. I saw a couple movies last week, so that provided some quality knitting time. Here’s my Mark It Monday progress.

The easy but long beanie project I started a few months ago grew to be too big. Here’s where I was when I tossed it into time out at the beginning of March.

Before I ripped back more than three inches of knitting…

I had added two more sets of increases because I’m working on a smaller needle than the pattern calls for. After recognizing it was way too big, I ripped back to the increase section to get back to the pattern’s stitch count. So here we are today.

Same As It Ever Was by Sarah Jordan using Fibernymph Dye Works Bounce in the All Things Green and Gold colorway on US1.5 (2.5mm) needles

The great thing about that pattern is I just knit round and round until I’m ready to decrease at the other end.

With the new month, of course I also cast on some new socks in Desert Vista Dyeworks yarn. These are also nice basic knitting round and round most of the time.

The last project I have to share right now is my newest cast on, also intended to be a travel knitting project. I’ve had the yarn for a while, and surprisingly I’ve chosen to use it for the shawl it was designed for, lol. The shawl has some interesting designs, but they’re all fairly easy to pull off without having to reference the pattern a ton. If my math is correct, I might even be able to finish it before I get home.

Under the Rainbow by Jennifer Tipton using KnitCircus Greatest of Ease in Quoth the Raven and KnitCircus Sock du Soleil in the Neon is the New Black colorway, on US6 (4.0mm) needles.

And for my last share, I tried to post this picture a couple weeks ago but was unable to upload it. During my decluttering efforts, I unearthed this family portrait from around 1983-84. Quintessential 80s, no?
