I don’t want reality to creep back in! But it’s coming…sooner than I’d like. But first…my #MarkItMonday updates!
Stitched or Still-in-Progress
Updates! Updates! Updates!

I finished the socks because I wanted the needles for another project (keep reading), and I love how they turned out. They’re fraternal twins, but so many people on the ship are super impressed.

I already shared this FO picture last week but I’m trying to be consistent here with my Mark-It posts. I have enough beads and yarn to make a second cowl in the reverse color combination, but I haven’t decided if I’ll do that just yet.

I grabbed this photo before dawn today since I knew I’d be working on it at least a little bit today. It turned out to really be a little – I haven’t finished the strip yet, but I think I have a half-zigzag remaining.
Cast-on Conversations
I’ve actually started two projects this week, though I’m missing a progress photo of it. I’ll try to grab that tomorrow as it’s very late today!

I started the penguin a few days ago on a shortie needle I bought in Buenos Aires, but my fingers just couldn’t manage it. So once I finished my second Monopoly sock, I could use the longer needle here. I did modify the brim of the hat to make it longer, and I have a couple other mods in mind. I’ll share more next time.
This is a Year of Projects post. Officially the Group is in its 14th year, my first. If you would like to find out more about the Year of Projects Group on Ravelry, please check it out; it’s a very welcoming group!
Travel Tales
Today we arrived at Puerto Montt, Chile as the sun was coming up. The ship was able to clear customs in a timely fashion, and I was on a tour that was arranged by another knitter in our group. It was nice to make the rounds of the area with folks I know, and we had a couple extra-special moments.

We started our tour with a visit to the city’s overlook. Honestly, I was more impressed with the buildings behind us – we were told this is military housing.

I’d like to share a lot more as I took tons of pictures on this trip, but honestly I’m tired. My day of recovery helped, but there’s still a lot of processing going on in my head. So I’m just going to leave you with a few highlight images from our visit to Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park. We were blessed to have Volcan Osorno show himself from behind the clouds! And the water at the Petrohue Falls is gorgeous. Later, we went to Puerto Varas, the “City of Roses” where I found a statue of Vicente, and I had some yummy gelato.

If I can manage some more mental processing about the events of the day, I’ll share when I can. But for now…
Knit on. 🧶
