Mark It Monday

Here we have my progress from the past week of knitting. I primarily focused on the Desert Vista Dyeworks socks since they have a fast-approaching deadline of January 31.

When I went to the movies on Sunday night, though, the socks were mid-heel turn. That meant I had to bring a different project with me – no, I don’t do fancy knitting in the movie theater. That meant my other sock-in-progress got a lot of attention for about three hours. I finished about thirty rounds done!

The last project I worked on this week was my long-sleeve Bling T by Laura Nelkin. This project is least likely to be completed during the Down Cellar Studio Pigskin Party, so I don’t prioritize it right now. Plus there are incremental increases happening, so it’s not movie theater knitting yet. Once I get past the increase section, it could be my go-to for those occasions.

I have one other project I need to start, as I have a commitment to knit a dishcloth as my “participation fee” for an NFL pool challenge in another Ravelry group. That one is due after the Super Bowl, so I may wait until both of my current sock projects are done.

    We are practically neighbors as I live in Cincinnati when I’m not snowbirding in Naples, FL. Welcome to the YOP Ravelry group. I have gotten many great ideas from the group. Love your project bags. Nothing better than a colorful bag or one that matches the yarn.

      I wish I were in a position to snowbird. My grandparents did from Connecticut. Thanks for the welcome! The KALs I do often provide bonus points for sponsor bags, so I have a lot of them, lol. As I’m decluttering, though, a fair number of my collection will be donated soon.

      Thanks! I’ve participated in the DVD KAL on odd-numbered years, but had to get in on the last one. The discount is worth it! Last year I knit a tiny Musselburgh for my grandson with one of my leftovers. 🥰

    I am intrigued by that heel. I gather by the fact that you have knit multiple pair that you like the way it fits.

      Yes, I do like the way it fits! Other heel construction has too much give for my liking. The designer has another construction (Non-Euclidean Heel for top-down, CPCTC for toe-up, which is similar. But the slipped stitch segment under the heel combined with the slipped stitches at the back of the heel make it snug.
