Progress and Achievements and a Busy Schedule

Another Monday is underway, and I’m appreciating the holiday on the heels of a busy weekend. The community chorus held our annual dinner shows on Friday and Saturday nights. Very well attended, the event should net a decent amount of money for our nonprofit. I was glad for a fair amount of down time those evenings, plus sitting time at a couple theaters. Here’s what I’ve achieved this week.

SHaGs pattern by Sarah Jordan in Desert Vista Dyeworks Viso in the Gradient Gourds colorway on US1 (2.25mm) needles

The February 2024 edition of my Desert Vista Dyeworks socks are completed. I finished the ribbing between the touring production of Company and the AMC showing of Bob Marley: One Love.

Lolette by Laura Nelkin using the Unwind Yarn Company 2019 Advent Set (fingering weight) on US5 (3.75mm) needles

The fourth wedge of Lolette is finished! That means I’m halfway through this section of the shawl.

Bling T (long sleeve version) by Laura Nelkin using Leading Men Fiber Arts Show Stopper in Don’t Fear the Reaper on US4 (3.5mm) needles

Sleeves are finished and the hem is cast on. Working my way up the body now. I think I’m short on yardage, so I’m looking for an additional color to create stripes in the body well before the beaded yoke.

Lolanyard by Laura Nelkin in an unknown lace weight yarn and US1 (2.25mm) needle

I completed the first half of the eyeglass fob. I needed the needle for another project (stay tuned for info) so I’ll finish it in a couple weeks.

Same As It Ever Was by Sarah Jordan using Fibernymph Dye Works Bounce in the All Things Green and Gold colorway on US1.5 (2.5mm) needles

I’ve neglected to share the update on this hat recently because I rarely work on it. It will likely be my go-to mindless knitting at the movies for several weeks.

Hydra Scales by Clair Wyvern using Leading Men Fiber Arts yarns: Show Stealer in Spring Thaw as the MC, Show Stopper in Wind Chill as CC1 and Show Stopper in Kentergy as CC2 on US1 (2.25mm) needles

Here is the start of the Sock Madness qualifying pair. We were given two weeks to complete them with required minimum repeats.

And lastly, I will share the shipment of Desert Vista Dyeworks yarns that arrived this past week. Ordered with my Q3 discount in late 2023, I now have most of the yarn I need for this year’s sock club.

Viso colorways: Balderdash, Arizona Landscape, Chang Mei, Acadia National Park, Close Encounters

Knit on. 🧶

I have never knit with DVD, but I have yet to see a colorway I didn’t like!

I’m not going to remember all the yummy things I’ve just seen on your post, but the shawl yarn is gorgeous. Your stripy sock yarn collection is impressive and the finished socks are very fun. You are braver than I am starting a project with sleeves and then hem, I’m top down raglan every time 😂

I am soooo thankful you shared about Desert Vista Dyeworks self striping yarn. I LOVE them. I can’t wait to order some. Her colorways are so vibrant and beautiful. I was so sad that Lollipop yarns stopped dying, and I still am, but Desert Dyeworks is a close second.
