Year of Projects – Week 6

This has been a grueling week, but I’ve had a few highlights. I had two outings with my grandson, and a third out-and-about visit with him in addition to his overnight stay on Friday. I also posted my first full podcast episode, a week after I posted the pilot introductory episode. I’m still learning how best to share, as I should be able to embed a player, though it looks like I have to pay for that functionality.

Stitched or Still-in-Progress

Continued progress on the Aran sweater, finishing the front. I’ve wound the yarn for the sleeves, but I still have to set up the chart in knitCompanion. I’m planning to knit them two-at-a-time for consistency.

My Camp Loopy project is looking absolutely gorgeous! And in daylight, the colors shine! I managed to finish the second section, but I now have over 300 stitches in a row.

The last project that saw love this week was my DVD sock. I finished the first one of the pair, and I’m ready to cast on its mate.

I might cast on those sweater sleeves before I call it a night, or maybe I’ll just go to bed, as I’m tired!

Grandson Glimpses

When my podcast was live, I was sitting in rural Ohio as my grandson had a meltdown. He is not a fan of monster trucks!

So much noise! Zayne was really scared of the monster trucks.

We opted on Friday to go back to the Columbus Zoo for the Chinese Lantern Festival instead of more trucks. He was much happier (except on the carousel).

    That butterfly shawl is amazing. Just breath taking!! I like that Instant Coffee pattern for your socks. Monster trucks would be too loud for me so I can’t imagine of a little guy. What fun lighted animals at the zoo. We are lucky in Ohio to have both the Columbus Zoo and the Cincinnati Zoo as outstanding zoos.

      Agreed! This display is really cool. We only saw a handful of animals as several areas are closed at night for the festival. The Toledo Zoo is pretty cool, too. I’ve been to zoos on three continents so far, and Columbus is still my favorite. 😍

      And yes – the Butterfly is addictive as it’s so pretty! I’ve seen a few knit with Knit Picks Chroma, and those examples might prompt me to knit this again, though I rarely repeat a pattern (not counting vanilla socks, lol).

    I agree with your grandson. I would always pick the zoo over monster trucks. Oh all your project look stunning. I found you on apple podcasts and have downloaded both episodes to enjoy:)

    Zoo 100% of the time! The Chinese latern parade looks awesome. Your shawl is drop dead gorgeous! The colors make me smile. The aran sweater is going to be so great for this coming winter. Doing sleeves two at a time is super smart. Cute sock. I like the texture of the pattern. Even cuter is your grandson though.

    Whoa! I don’t know which eye candy I’m more tickled by – those wonderful animal lanterns, or your gorgeous Butterfly shawl. That is shawl is mesmerizing and beautiful. Your sweater and socks are lovely, too.
