Year of Projects- Week 7

A very busy week and tiring…my sleep schedule has been lousy, despite being wiped out at night. Hopefully this improves soon, but I’m seeing my doctor in a couple weeks, so if it’s still problematic, I’ll discuss with her. On to my updates!

Stitched or Still-in-Progress

I have a couple finished objects to share – woot! First, my second DVD sock flew off the needles this week! DK weight yarn certainly helped a lot.

Instant Coffee Socks by Dami M. Almon using Desert Vista Dyeworks DK in the Desert in Bloom colorway (including mini) on US3 (3.25mm)

And despite not working on my shortie socks for over a week, I completed the second one in short order.

Nugget Peds by Laura Nelkin using Knit Picks Felici in the Game Over colorway on US1 (2.25mm) needles

My other priority WIPs got a lot of love, too. The shawl is truly addictive! I might even finish knitting on it early this next week. Only two sections remain, and it’s 80% complete.

Butterfly|Papillon by MarinJa Knits using Urth Uneek Fingering in the 3007 colorway and Cascade Yarns Heritage Sock in Black on US4 (3.5mm) needles

For the sweater, I cast on the sleeves and I’m working on both at once. So far I’ve only had a couple brain lapses where I had to fix an mis-crossed cable.

Byrne Clan Aran pullover by Clanarans using Aran Handknitting Wool from Blarney Woolen Mills in the Natural colorway on US4 (3.5mm)/US5 (3.75mm)/US6 (4.0mm) needles

Lastly, I put some time into the first of a pair of fingerless mitts, but most of the knitting happened at the movie theater. I realized today that the cuff was a hot mess, so I frogged it and started again. My Ravelry project page has a photo of my progress before I frogged it – I was ready to start the hand, but I’m very glad I started over!

Beadic Mitts by Laura Nelkin using John Arbon Textiles Exmoor Sock in the Dimity colorway on US1.5 (2.5mm) and US2 (2.75mm) needles

I’m just too tired to say much more tonight. I’ll share some more updates from the week tomorrow.

This is a Year of Projects post. Officially the Group is in its 14th year, my first. If you would like to find out more about the Year of Projects Group on Ravelry, please check it out; it’s a very welcoming group!

Love that garter cuff. I’ve never done a garter cuff but it looks great. Your Papillion shawl is just beautiful. It’s in my queue and I look forward to knitting it someday. I don’t wear shawls but I think I’d wear that one! Love that Instant Coffee pattern.

The papillon shawl is beautiful. I used to have it in my queue and list but I got worried it would be too difficult but you are flying through it it seems. The socks are so cheery, love those stripes

Thank you! The shawl is not difficult… perhaps you should consider putting it back in your queue? It’s all about short rows. I use the knitCompanion app which makes it easy to keep track of where I am in the pattern. It will also be easy to make it again as a result!
