I’m frustrated that it took me so long to get to this check-in, but I suppose it’s just a fact of life. But as with any goal-oriented endeavor, it’s a good idea to review and evaluate the progress as the year goes on. The end of the calendar year marked the midpoint for the Year of Projects. I’ve revisited my original plan, noting what I’ve completed and what fell off my radar. Now I’m shifting my plan to account for what did and didn’t work in the first six months (plus).

I removed three projects completely from the plan. Two (blanket and hat) just didn’t bring me joy, so they’ve been nixed. Oh, I realize now that I need to add the DVD Zig Zag blanket to the list because I already started it, lol. I don’t expect to finish it before July, but I do plan to put time into it each month until then; then it will carry over into YOP 15. And one of the memory projects has been moved out of YOP 14 since I haven’t really done anything on either. I’m resetting the goal to finish the 2017 project by the end of June, and perhaps the momentum will get me started on the 2024 project in July.
Also, I’m working on my fourth shawl project now, which will meet my goal! I’m behind on socks and hats, so I will shift gears. And if I get the itch to knit another shawl, I can always exceed that goal, too.
In the first six months of this YOP 14, I’ve knit nine (9) pairs of socks, seven (7) shawls, a cable knit sweater, and a couple little projects. I have another pair of socks, a shawl, a blanket and another sweater in progress, too. Now I just need some quiet time to sit and knit! My knitting cruise in March should be exciting plus providing some solid blocks of time to knit!
Knit on. 🧶
