Year of Projects – Week 33

It’s been another busy week, so I haven’t done a lot of knitting, but I did pull something out of hibernation! Here’s hoping I have a few opportunities to stitch this week.

Stitched or Still-in-Progress

I finished the second strip of the zigzag blanket and then I added the third colorway. Close Encounters was my choice for my June 2024 socks. And now you can see how the “right” and “wrong” sides aren’t really obvious since the strips alternate directions.

Ten Stitch Zigzag – pattern by Frankie Brown; yarn: Desert Vista Dyeworks Viso in a multitude of colorways, on US3 (3.25mm) needles

The Monopoly sock is working up nicely. This won’t be for movie knitting soon though since I’m close to starting the gusset increases.

SHaGS – pattern by Sarah Jordan, yarn: Abi Grasso Self Striping Sock in the Monopoly colorway on US1 (2.25mm)

And last up, the second Irish sweater is back out in the light. I only managed to knit one row before going to bed last night. But I also realized that I need to refresh my mind about the pattern! While the chart work is very easy since I have the pattern in KnitCompanion, there are still increases happening. I’m not finding any notes right away to know where I was, but I’m sure I can figure it out (or fudge it 😉).

Citadel sweater – pattern by Joji Locatelli; using Blarney Woolen Mills Donegal Tweed Handknitting Wool in Moss on US 6 (4.0mm) needles

And there you have it. I will also get back to the test knit shawl at some point, but right now I’m plugging away on these projects as time allows. I need to start reviewing my needle collection because I leave on vacation in two weeks and I’ll need a variety for the designs we’re expecting. I’ll share more about that later this week.

This is a Year of Projects post. Officially the Group is in its 14th year, my first. If you would like to find out more about the Year of Projects Group on Ravelry, please check it out; it’s a very welcoming group!

Knit on! 🧶

LOVE the Monopoly colorway. What terrific socks! Your Irish sweater also looks wonderful.

How fun to have a monopoly themed yarn, it’s been designed well to look like the little colours you see on each property. You’ve reminded me I have a jumper I’ve been ignoring. Maybe I’ll dig that out today

I have a few projects in hibernation… it’s rough when my higher priorities don’t allow for knitting time! I look forward to seeing your jumper update!
