Today was a rough one for me. I got the very sad news as our knitting class wrapped that a friend passed away earlier in the week. This was not expected, and it hit me pretty hard. I’m glad at least to know that I’ll be back home before the funeral so I can be there. But the news gave me a flashback to nearly ten years ago when my aunt passed away as my son and I were flying overseas for a week; her services were over before we returned home.
Travel Tales
We had a long sea day today, and we’re making our way north amidst the Chilean fjords (or fiords, depending on what map you look at). The day started off quite rainy, and the mist was thick. As we continued to move along, the weather cleared a bit, but it was cold and windy all day. Here are some of the photos I shot, though a lot of it looks the same. The fact that we have land on both sides of us is comforting as that is likely why the way has been pretty smooth.

We’re heading up to see the Pio XI Glacier, also called Brugges Glacier, so I’m excited for that. We also have plans for a group photo (weather permitting), and our fearless leader has planned for an all-group dinner, encouraging folks to wear their signature color. Can you guess mine?
I spent a good portion of the evening at the Billboard Onboard lounge and the pianos. Our performers, Alfredo and Ellie, had an all-request line-up tonight, and I submitted a number of recommendations. Alfredo gave a good effort on a few songs, though they were new attempts for him. I threw a few in there that I knew they were comfortable with though, so that balanced it out. A couple other knitters from our group showed up shortly before the end of the final set, and I joined them afterwards to hang out and chat.
I’m feeling rather melancholy, so I’ll just wrap up here. I’ll work on having knitting content tomorrow. I did plenty of knitting today, but I didn’t photograph anything. I also helped someone else with fixing her project, too. Sorry for the brevity, but hopefully you understand,.
Knit on. 🧶
