And yet, the time is fast approaching. We disembark in the morning, and I’m not on the same tour with my new friends. I’ll see a bunch of them at the airport at least, as several are on the same flight as me tomorrow night. I also scored another discounted upgrade, so perhaps I’ll be more comfortable this time, having had the experience on my previous overnight flight.
Travel Tales
It was a very chill day today, our last day at sea. Since I was up so late last night, I slept in. I still managed to get up to the Lido Market for breakfast shortly before they stopped serving. Then I popped up to the Crow’s Nest for a bit before class. There was a pod of whales swimming alongside us for a while, so I tried to get some video. That was not an easy task given the number of people crowding around the windows on the port side. And there wasn’t a whole lot to see – only blowholes and puffs of vapor. When I get home I’ll check the video to see if there’s anything worth sharing.
I got to class early and worked on my penguin, knowing that a group photo of the penguins was planned after dinner. As planned, I filled a small ziploc bag with volcanic ash from Puerto Varas, and placed that as Poppy’s weighted base.

I hung out in class to give encouragement to a friend who wanted to finish her Ceci Cowl. We also popped up to the Crow’s Nest briefly before returning to our rooms to do some packing. Our final dinner on board was yummy, as usual – right down to dessert!

After dinner there was more packing to be done since we had to have everything in the hall before midnight. I got most of my packing done then before heading to knitting night where I worked on my penguin’s cowl. The flippers are done but still need to be blocked which just leaves the feet to be knit (and blocked) along with the final assembly.
Shortly after 9PM I headed back to the Billboard Onboard Lounge for one last night of merriment and melodies (with harmonies). Some of the group joined me ahead of the final set, and there were photos and videos taken. As I bid adieu to Alfredo and Ellie, I got them to pose with my Poppy as a token farewell.

We’ll see if I have energy to share pictures after my tour of Santiago tomorrow. Otherwise it’ll happen when I get home on Thursday. Thanks so much for following along on my adventures! It’s been a blast, documenting a majority of my experiences here. And, as always…
Knit on. 🧶
